We chose this topic, Bollywood, because this category is both dance and drama combined into central movies, and this industry is also the most known around India. Bollywood explains both the life of most Indians and also includes dance to add a more upbeat entertainment for people who watch these movies.People in modern times are now more accustomed to talking and acting differently and they base their moral on other aspects of life, other than culture. People in traditional times were very set on customs and traditions because it ran in the family. When traditional movies were made they were based on real life things like relationships and love & romance. But now people have intensified and do not respect their culture as much they use to and should. In the following paragraphs modern and traditional Bollywood are compared.

In traditional Bollywood movies, they used more traditional clothing that is simple in looks, but still conserves you body. For the music aspect, it usually matched the feelings that are being implied by the plot of the movie, and almost all of themovies were based on love and romance stories. Also, most of these movies were “family-friendly”, as we would call them now, and were actually aimed towards families to bring them together.

In modern times, Bollywood includes clothes that are not appropriate, in the way that it shows more skin than the traditional Indian culture would allow. The movies are more “hip hop” and more westernized. The movies are still love and romance based, but include more sexual implications in them. Even though these scenes are created more often, they still try to make movies that the whole family can watch, but these movies are more uncommon nowadays. These movies also affect the youth of India, as they do in the United States, because it changes their views on the ways of the world.

In one of the Bollywood movies that were released,

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, there is a many instances

of a type of "tug of war" going on in the movie. For instance,

in this picture the clothes each couple is wearing

differentiates between traditional and modern.

In another one of the Bollywood movies that were

releases, Swades, there is a man who travels

back to his hometown, from America to India.

What he does not realize is the technology

and other benefits are not present in his

grandmother's village. As you can see in this

visual image, there is a man who stands out from

all the other people. The man is the main character

who has come back to his hometown.
