     The group that caught on with the new technology is the youth. They are becoming more technology oriented, and when the time comes for them to work, they play a large role in the development of technology in the society. With the computers and TV comes new information. The information is sometimes of the modern culture of the Western world. Being exposed to that information, the importance of traditional ways of life fades. This process is slowly changing the whole society in India; as the population of the new generation increases, the traditional Indian culture is struggling to survive.

These teenagers are dressed in very American clothing, in older times, these clothes would have been considered culturally inaccurate but are now accepted as everyday clothes in India among the teenage population.

This would have been unacceptable for two reasons, the clothes are relatively revealing and girls did not do sports competitively. This is no longer the case, girls are now just as successful in sports as boys. For the most part, they also choose what they wear although it is still usually more conservative than that of the average American teenage girl.

I: They used to but now we just wear whatever

A: So like skinny jeans and a tanktop?

I: yeah, or shorts, or skirts

A: so do your skirts have to be like really long?!?!

I: NO!!! We wear the same things as other teenagers, in Europe, America, and Asia

A: Oh ok, so what about sports, I mean, girls totally dominate here, the guys won't admit it but we do, especially in soccer.

I: Well it's about equal here, Guys tend to play more sports but if your a girl you have just as much chance

A: So things have changed a lot in India in the past couple decades...

I: Yeah, we evened out the playing field

A: Cool!
